Eight Gigs: Mardi Gras Celebration

There's not much of a better way to celebrate than with an abundance of food, booze and music. That's what happens this Saturday with Old Sacramento's Mardi Gras party. It takes place at more than a dozen venues in Old Sacramento, and features about as many local bands. Dan Whitney, BlackRose (pictured), Zydeco on Our Mind, Yesterday's News, the Chris Twomey Band, Joey Ventitelli, and more will perform throughout venues in Old Sacramento. The main focus is rock 'n' roll, jazz and Cajun music, so just pop into venues like Laughs Unlimited, O'Mally's Irish Pub and Fanny Ann's Saloon until you find something good.
