Eight Gigs: Mac Sabbath
Sun., Aug. 16, 8 p.m., Harlow’s Restaurant and Nightclub, $12-$15
Admit it, McDonald's characters are kind of creepy. There's Ronald, the “happy” clown, that one guy with an entire cheeseburger for a head, and don't even get me started on that purple blob. Appropriately, someone had the brilliant idea to marry the insane McDonaldland characters with the music of Black Sabbath. The four-piece dresses up like scary versions of these popular characters and sing faithful renditions of Sabbath songs, though changing all the words to be about fast food. The act is technically comedy, but it does get kind of spooky at times. You might have nightmares. 2708 J Street, www.facebook.com/macsabbath.
