Eight Gigs: Lera Lynn
Sun., Sept. 25, 8 p.m., Harlow’s Restaurant & Nightclub, $12-$15
If the name Lera Lynn doesn’t immediately ring a bell, you may know her better as one of the only worthwhile parts of the second season of True Detective. Her haunting “The Only Thing Worth Fighting For,” which was co-written by Lynn, Rosanne Cash and T Bone Burnett, is a gem, and while her album Resistor, which dropped earlier this year, is considerably more rockin’, it maintains that ethereal, atmospheric quality. Lynn is poised to make a name for herself, so catch her while you can. William Wild, a singer-songwriter hailing from Knoxville, Tennessee, opens up the show. 2708 J Street, http://leralynn.com.
