Eight Gigs: Larisa Bryski
Fri., Dec. 16, 8 p.m., Old Ironsides, $8
2004 Sammie-award winning vocalist Larisa Bryski is something of a vocal chameleon and a powerful one at that, a little bit reminiscent of Carrie Underwood swerving more firmly into rock territory. It’s been a minute since her debut album, The Long Way, came out in 2000, so here’s to hoping something new is on its way. Local-scene diehards will be pleased to know that homegrown talent will be filling out the rest of the bill by way of bassist Emma Simpson, returning after a spin at Berklee College of Music, and staple The Brodys.
