Eight Gigs: Joseph in the Well

Joseph in the Well, the 2015 Sammies winner for “Outstanding New Artist” and “Artist of the Year,” is truly a Sacramento original. Joe Kye, with his vocals, loops and electric guitar, leads a full band of violins, strings, upright bass and percussion. Citing Miles Davis, Sufjan Stevens, Andrew Bird, rock, jazz, classical and world music as influences, the band drops a debut EP at this show. On “Plastic Heart,” there are underpinnings of the Beatles circa Magical Mystery Tour.
