Eight Gigs: Johnny Marr

In case you were feeling accomplished today: English guitar whiz Johnny Marr is probably best known as the guitarist and co-songwriter for the Smiths. But at various points in his career he’s also been a member of The The, Electronic (a collaboration with New Order singer Bernard Sumner), the Pretenders and Modest Mouse. Dude’s been around, in other words, and for good reason: His inventive, expansive and diverse guitar sensibilities are a thing to behold, and he’s a singer and songwriter in his own right.
