Jeff Daniels is best known for his brave performance as Harry Dunne in Dumb and Dumber and in more recent years, as the lightning-lipped mansplainer Will McAvoy in The Newsroom. This week, he comes to us as band leader backed by his son and the Ben Daniels Band. While the elder Daniels' music is insistent in its Americana-ness (banjos galore, lots of droppin' the “g” from the end of words), the younger tends more toward contemporary sound à la Jackie Green or Old Crow Medicine Show.
