Eight Gigs: Jackie Greene

Sacramento son Jackie Greene returns for a New Year’s Eve show in the wake of his seventh album, Back to Birth, released back in August. If you’re wondering how it stacks up to the early days, Greene says: “Musically, this album is kind of a return to the simplicity of the records that I started with, although I feel like I have a much better idea of what I’m doing now.” I’d add that it’s a little fuller sounding than his Dylan-esque days of yore, and longtime fans won’t be disappointed.
