The jagged, opening riff of “Damaged Goods” on Gang Of Four's 1979 debut, Entertainment!, signified a groundbreaking disturbance that ushered in post-punk. The Leeds-based political punks invented a sound that would resonate for years to come through bands like Fugazi, Rage Against the Machine and Bloc Party. Before Gang Of Four, dancing and maintaining a political stance weren't mutually exclusive.
