Eight Gigs: Erica Ambrin

Sacramento rallied behind Erica Ambrin when she made it onto the latest season of American Idol. There were screenings at LowBrau and interviews on local television stations. Ambrin survived the auditions and went to Hollywood—the judges were impressed with her smooth, soulful voice—but she got cut shortly thereafter. The experience wasn't for nothing, though. It motivated the singer-songwriter to complete her first EP, Suga, about her journey through love and life. And with a history of rapping, Ambrin brings some hip-hop vibes into her indie folk.
