Eight Gigs: Destroy Boys
Sat., April 16, 11 a.m., Dimple Records, no cover
An internationally recognized event with more than 1,400 independent stores that participate nationwide, Record Store Day puts the needle to the groove once more this weekend. Dimple Records in Sacramento will shake things up with a live performance by feminist garage-rock trio Destroy Boys, which recently released its EP Grimester on April 6. Just in time to celebrate record-store culture, the four-song EP features tracks like “30 Seconds of Shit,” a fast-paced ditty with a fitful temperament courtesy of drums and guitar, studded with the quick-witted vocal-style of Alexia Roditis. 2500 16th Street, www.facebook.com/destroyboys.
