After his cousin was killed and his father died of cancer, a cascade of financial and family troubles fell upon Sacramento rapper Charlie Muscle. But all the while, he stuck with hip-hop, emerging as a major player in the local scene a few years ago. One video demonstrating his quick, tongue-twisting flow earned him the No. 8 spot on TeamBackpack’s top 120 cypher verses of 2015.
