Eight Gigs: Blue Oaks

Blue Oaks' Brendan Stone returns to his home state to perform at familiar stomping grounds—and invites a few friends and musicians to join him for an acoustic-style set. Before his move to Austin, Texas, last year, Stone released a 7-inch single titled Hit by a Train from New York City Blues. Its song “Skeleton Key” pays respect to blues artists like Son House and the murkier tones of Tom Waits—yet Stone manages to convey these influences with his own honest interpretation.
