Eight Gigs: A$AP Ferg

Hard to believe A$AP Ferg’s Trap Lord is nearly two years old. Tracks like “Hood Pope,” “Shabba” and “Didn’t Wanna Do That” still sound jarring and alive with paranoia. His follow-up, Always Strive and Prosper, is a far different Ferg; some might say it panders to EDM and true schoolers. It conflicts with our understanding of Ferg, even though “Psycho” knocks like a classic Boot Camp Clique cut.
