Eat with the animals

Combine holiday cheer, zoo fun and food truck mayhem on one night only: Wednesday, December 16. This month, the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary is decked out in thousands of lights. There's an enchanted miniforest of 50 brightly lit trees, Santa Claus, train rides, carolers and seasonal refreshments. Plus, you can actually go to the zoo after dark. Admission from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. costs $5. But before you enter the zoo, take advantage of the simultaneous SactoMoFo Food Truck Safari in the parking lot. SactoMoFo just added the Folsom event—every third Wednesday of the month—in October. But this will be the only night that you can grab food truck grub and scope out animals under those glittering lights.
