Earth Day fête

Earth Day may sound like an occasion just for Earth-loving hippies and tree huggers, but this powerhouse event is celebrated worldwide to raise awareness of global issues. In 1970, then-U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson organized the first Earth Day to put the environment on the political agenda. Earth Day efforts spearheaded the development of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Clean Air, Clean Water and Endangered Species acts. Join the celebration that spans 184 countries. A spectacular event awaits you, April 22 at CSUS.
