Duck, duck, race
This Sunday, thousands of rubber ducks will descend on the Sacramento River as part of the second annual Great Sacramento Duck Race, a benefit for Special Olympics programs in Northern California. The rubber birds will take to the river at 2 p.m., making their way from Waterfront Park (100 Front Street in Old Sacramento) to the Tower Bridge. The first 10 ducks to cross the finish line will win various prizes, including cruise and airline vacations, cash, a gas barbecue grill and more. You can adopt your own rubber duck for a mere $5. Discounts are available for those purchasing multiple ducks—you can get a six-quack for $25. To adopt a duck of your own, log onto www.sacramentoduckrace.com or call (916) 929-RACE. Online adoption closes at 10 p.m. Saturday. May the best duck win!
