Southern Culture on the Skids: Regular or extra crispy?

The last time I saw Southern Culture on the Skids was in Austin, Texas, a few years back; frontman Rick Miller was inviting women from the audience to clamber onstage and eat fried chicken while the band whipped through a leering number called “8 Piece Box.” Dunno if this Carolina combo is still up to the same shenanigans, but with a new album titled Liquored Up and Lacquered Down, it’s pretty much full gospel that the Skids—who are almost fixing to get ready to play Harlow’s this Sunday night—will be up to the usual cakewalk jive time. (A caveat: Harlow’s kitchen may be incapable of preparing a suitably déclassé repast, so someone’ll probably have to call the Colonel, Church’s or Popeye’s for takeout bird.) With the Amazing Crowns, 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, at Harlow’s, 2708 J St. Tickets $12.50 advance, $15 day of show.
