Dinosaur

This is the happy story of dinosaurs running away from the meteor storm that will eventually extinguish their species. This mixture of live backgrounds and computer animation is major eye candy and just a bit misguided on the story front. Still, the story doesn’t matter much when a movie looks this good, and it’s a breakthrough of technical achievement. This is Disney’s animated offering this year and, surprisingly, the dinosaurs don’t bust out singing. This film cost more than $200 million—the summer’s biggest monetary gamble.
