Dang, so many great shows …

Eleni Mandell, one of the best singers you’ll ever hear
And only one tiny space to tout them in. Here goes: Eleni Mandell is a goddess; the Los Angeles singer is an American version of Lotte Lenya, and her femme fatale on acoustic guitar act hits the True Love Coffeehouse, 2406 J St., on Thursday, October 11. For $6, she’ll slay you. On Saturday, October 13, local band Forever Goldrush plays with Bay area pop band Call and Response and Seattle emo singer-songwriter Jeremy Toback at Capitol Garage, 1427 L St.; show’s at 9 p.m., cover’s $7. Spearhead brings its simmering political hip-hop-reggae mix to Harlow’s, 2708 J St. on Sunday, October 14, at 9 p.m.; tickets are $15. Blonde Redhead, one of the more interesting bands that feature twins, plays Harlow’s on Wednesday, October 17, at 10 p.m.; tickets are $12.50. Also on Wednesday, former Sacramento resident Bill Callahan brings his group Smog to Capitol Garage at 9 p.m., with Neil Michael Hagerty (ex-Royal Trux, Pussy Galore) opening. Cover’s $8.
