Dancing with the stars
Sacramento Ballet has a favorite show—Twyla Tharp’s Nine Sinatra Songs, along with Frankie & Johnny by Tony Award winner Michael Smuin and a piece by Trey McIntyre—coming up February 11 through 14 at the Community Center Theater. But for those ballet fans who opt for tickets to the Saturday night show, there’s a special treat in store. Sac Ballet is planning a party after the show—called Take Center Stage—in which lucky patrons will have a chance to join the corps’ members onstage (the Frankie and Johnny Cuban club set) for drinks and dancing. Be aware the program is suggested for mature audiences, which makes it a great way for adults to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the one they love. For tickets and more information, contact the Sacramento Ballet at (916) 552-5800, ext. 2 (Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.); or visit the company’s Web site at www.sacballet.org.
