Croupier
Croupier tells the story of a casino dealer in England (Clive Owen) who gets mixed up with three women and some shady enterprises (I don’t want to give too much away). Owen is excellent in this suspenseful film, which manages some big surprises and is every bit as good as Martin Scorsese’s
Casino (it has the added benefit of no Joe Pesci in its cast!). It’s a quiet film, with some decent mystery and a great punch line. Stylish, inventive and original.
