Count ’em up!

Join the National Audubon Society for the 12th annual Great Backyard Bird Count. From February 13 to 16, count the number of birds you see in parks, backyards and streets in 15 minutes on one or more of the four-day count and enter tallies at www.birdcount.org. Last year, people counted 11 million birds of 613 species. Sacramentans submitted 158 checklists—second in the state—with 100 species reported.
