Come aboard—they’re expecting you
Oo-ee, oo-ee baby. Won’t you let the members of the Quail Ridge Wilderness Conservancy, a nonprofit dedicated to wilderness preservation, take you on a sea, er, lake cruise? The 24-foot water cruiser will cast off at Lake Berryessa this Saturday at 3 p.m. During the voyage, the ship’s crew will discuss the region’s history and the plants and animals that call it home. The ship will make a one-hour stop at Quail Ridge Reserve, where passengers can disembark and explore the reserve’s northern tip by foot. Be sure to bring a sweater, because the boat doesn’t return to port until around 8 p.m., and the observation deck can be chilly in the evening. The cruise costs $45 and includes finger foods, a buffet dinner and beverages. Pop a Dramamine and meet the ship’s crew at Pleasure Cove Resort at 6100 Highway 128 in Napa. Call (530) 758-1387 for reservations or more information. No stowaways, please.
