Classic (stage) book
Just in time for their fall production of a new adaptation of Frankenstein, the lovely literary folks at the Sacramento Theatre Company are offering an opportunity to revisit the original—with competent guides. That’s right; pick up a copy of Mary Shelley’s famous (and less frightening than thought-provoking) novel, Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus. Sacramento actor Jerry Lee, who will be playing the role of Henry Clerval in Tim Kelly’s adaptation at STC, will host the four one-hour discussions of both the novel and the upcoming show in what they’re calling a “Drama/Book Club.” For $18, you’ll get a book, admission to all four sessions on Thursdays starting on September 15, and a ticket to the October 6 production of Frankenstein—but space is limited, so call the Sacramento Theatre Company at (916) 446-7501, ext. 100, soon to reserve your spot.
