Cache Creek Casino & Resort will host a night of live mixed martial-arts mayhem this Friday night starting at 8 p.m. Showdown at Cache Creek II will feature nine fights, including a classic grappler-vs.-striker heavyweight main event between The Ultimate Fighter 2’s Mike Whitehead and Ruben “Warpath” Villareal. The light-heavyweight match will feature the local favorite, from Citrus Heights, James “The Sandman” Irvin vs. Gary La Frankie. Erin Toughill, the No. 1-ranked female in mixed martial arts, will take on Jen Case in another battle of fighting styles. Toughill’s proven striking abilities will be pitted against Case’s 3-0 submission record. Six other matches are scheduled to precede the main event, along with guest appearances by three-time Ultimate Fighting Championship winner Dan “The Beast” Severn and mixed-martial-arts legend Bas Rutten.
