City of (even more) Trees

Sacramento is already the City of Trees. But for 30 days (March 7 to April 8), the Sacramento Tree Foundation is trying to boost the city’s number of trees—by 30,000. In honor of the foundation’s 30th anniversary, it’s hosting a community-wide drive to plant 30,000 trees. Those who wish to help can pledge to plant trees at www.30ktrees.com. People can also sign up with a group or businesses, organize a tree-planting event, and suggest a spot that could use more trees. Once you pledge to plant trees, you’ll receive free information on how to care for the trees you plant.
