City of Composting

We live in the City of Trees. In fall, it turns into something more like the City of Leaves. Here’s a plan to avoid having to put that dreaded pile of leaves in the green-waste bin or on the curb: Instead of having them hauled away, save them for composting. West Sacramento residents can receive a free composting bin just for attending one of the city’s Backyard Composting Program workshops. They happen October 8, 15 and 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Urban Farm Stand at Holy Cross Church, 800 Todhunter Avenue in West Sacramento.
