If you prefer political statements with less shouting and more intellect, observe Human Rights Day on Monday with a benefit screening of Vladimir Gyorski’s new film Resin. The Dogme 95-style film is the fictional account of a small-time drug dealer caught in the mandatory sentencing of California’s Three Strikes law. (There are over 3,000 non-violent criminals serving 25-year-to-life sentences for minor felonies under Three Strikes.) A Three Strikes reform rally begins at 5 p.m. The film plays at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. Proceeds benefit Families to Amend California’s Three Strikes Law.
