Chuck and Buck

Rated 2.0 Youthful sexual experimentation provides gnarled, long-term ramifications for two erstwhile pre-teen buddies in this low-budget, deadpan story about sexual extortion and people who react very differently to a shared experience. Chuck (Chris Weitz) has become a Los Angeles music producer with a fiancée (Beth Colt), a swank Hollywood Hills home and a cool car. Buck (Mike White, who also wrote the script) has never left childhood’s front porch. He’s a case of arrested development who moves to L.A. and stalks his former playmate. The ambiguity of the film is intriguing, but the actions and reactions of the main characters are unconvincing. Directed by Miguel Arteta (Star Maps).
