Christmas shows for the kids

Most Christmas shows are family-friendly by their very nature, but there are a few productions that are aimed directly at the younger set, and certainly worth checking out as a way to support the arts and make a holiday memory. For example, The Actor’s Workshop in Folsom is producing a stage version of A Charlie Brown Christmas, which is sure to make children happy and adults nostalgic. The shows are on Saturdays at noon and 2 p.m., December 3, 10 and 17; an evening opening show is set for 7 p.m., Friday, December 2. For more information, visit www.actorsworkshop.net. Runaway Stage Productions is producing The Magic Toy Shop on its children’s stage, with shows at noon and 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, and December 3. Bob and Ro Productions at the Studio Theatre open The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe on Sunday, December 2, and it runs weekends until December 18.
