Chow 2005
SN&R’s 10th Annual Guide to Sacramento Dining
Welcome to the 10th annual Chow Guide to Sacramento dining. If this publication—and your waistline—has grown since 1995, you can hold Sacramento’s booming dining scene accountable.
In the last decade, new restaurants have appeared in our city with growing frequency. Many of these eateries sport sophisticated décor, innovative menus and quasi-celebrity chefs. Others offer good food, pleasant surroundings and modest prices. As their numbers grow, parking is harder to come by and diners often wait elbow-to-elbow to eat dinner on a weekend night.
But as these new kids take over block upon block of our city, the old-timers—the ones that were around long before we even dreamed up the idea of a Chow Guide—are still pleasing our palates.
So don’t let the page count of Chow 2005 intimidate you: It’s just proof that whether you want to eat somewhere new, trendy, or at a place that has achieved “local- institution” status, Sacramento has more options than ever.
