Chickens have faces!
“It turns out that most vegetarians eat meat,” Hal Herzog said recently on radio program To the Best of Our Knowledge. The Some We Love, Some We Hate, Some We Eat author cited a study in which about 30,000 Americans were asked about their diet. Those who identified themselves as vegetarians were called back and asked what they’d eaten in the last 24 hours: 60 percent reported ingesting “animal flesh.” What’s with the befuddling inconsistency? Well, some “vegetarians” don’t consider all animals as animals, e.g., fish and chicken, because “they don’t have faces.” Hogwash!
