Chicken Run

The first feature-length film from the creators of Wallace and Gromit is a treat to look at, if not entirely interesting as a story. A group of chickens headed by Rocky the Rooster (voiced by Mel Gibson) attempt to escape their farm, where the owner plans to turn them into chicken pot pies. The claymation is always a pleasure to look at, but not enough happens in the story, and the film feels overlong and padded at times. Still, it’s very much worth seeing for the visuals and truly funny at times. The kids at the screening I attended were having a blast.
