Politics, porn, the state of the environment—these are all obscene things. The world can all be chaotic, and this is how San Francisco-based painter Kara Maria depicts it. With cascades and clumps of debris in a cacophony of color and demure or lewd figures, she encapsulates what’s so wrong with man’s treatment of each other and nature with Inviting the Storm.
