Gina Disney, a volunteer at the Bicycle Kitchen on 36th and Broadway, conferred with fellow volunteers and came up with these bike routes for green commuters.

1. Volunteer Owen Howlett’s favorite, little-known route: “The 20th Street connector is a great resource. It begins at 20th and C streets and heads north over the American River, then links into a network of trails that take you east by the river or north to Rio Linda.”
