Celebrity overload, feminine mystique

The wildest prom reunion you’ve never seen.

This last production by the Lambda Players at the Studio Theatre (they’re moving to a new space nearer Glitter Gulch in Midtown) is a revival of Six Women With Brain Death. The show has the honor of being, in its initial incarnation, the longest-running play in Sacramento theater history. This production, directed by Kitty Czarnecki, refreshes some of the humor (expect nods to Britney and American Idol) while keeping the zany, women-well-past-the-verge-of-nervous-breakdowns energy going. Expect to giggle with both discomfort and recognition, and be prepared for language (and a life-sized Barbie and Ken orgy) that’s not safe for kids.
