The Thistle Dew Dessert Theater is presenting the first in a series of children’s productions featuring the adventures and misadventures of Charlie, a French Briard puppy, and Jay, a Persian cat. In this Christmas play, Wake Up, Jay! It’s Christmas! Jay and Charlie learn the importance of family and acceptance after Jay assumes she is better than this newly arrived lowly puppy who has invaded her kingdom, and who, as it turns out, is as well bred as she. Directed by Jill McMahon, the play features Desirae Hunter and Kevin Beard. It opens Friday, December 14, at 7 p.m. and continues Saturday, December 15, at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 16 at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The same hours hold for the following weekend, Friday December 21 through Sunday, December 23, with additional performances to be announced.
