Jon Affonso, who runs the local urban winery Rail Bridge Cellars (www.railbridgecellars.net), tells us which Sacramento-area wine lists have caught his eye lately:
“It changes; the lists are constantly evolving, and you tend to remember the one you’ve gone to lately.
“Tapa the World … has an extremely interesting collection of Spanish wines you don’t normally see and some higher-end first-growth French wines—a very eclectic mix.
“Hawks in Granite Bay [has] probably the biggest collection of first-growth of Bordeaux wines in the area. There aren’t too many places in Sacramento where you can drop a thousand dollars on a bottle of wine. Also in that category are The Firehouse and Enotria; they probably have the largest collection of wines. The Kitchen also has an excellent list.
“Ella has a very nice list; of course they have the Lattice on there, which is my red wine.”
