Brunch for a lady

The R Street corridor is brunch central on weekends, but don’t miss the goodness at the Shady Lady Saloon. The weekend brunch service features your typical eggs and hash browns, but with applewood-smoked bacon. The spiced apple pancakes are so sweet, there’s no need for syrup; and the black currant and walnut French toast is made the right way: grilled to brown perfection, then baked. It’s also got walnuts crusted around the edges for a nice balance of crunch to bread. The coffee’s good, too.
