Breakin’ All the Rules

Stars Jamie Foxx and Morris Chestnut make this familiar game-of-love comedy much more entertaining that it probably deserves to be. They play a magazine editor and his best friend, who get sucked into a circle of deceit and mistaken identity that gradually spins out of control with occasionally hilarious results. The editor is dumped by his girlfriend (Gabrielle Union) just before they intend to announce their engagement. He then writes a handbook for breaking off relations with the opposite sex that becomes a best seller and entangles him in a romantic roundelay that includes his ex-girlfriend; his buddy, the buddy’s girlfriend and one of her co-workers; the magazine’s publisher; and a gold digger.
