Bonne again

Sacramento County health inspectors recently closed Daniel Pont’s Michelin, Yelp and Zagat top-rated La Bonne Soupe Café (920 Eighth Street). Then, days later, a “for sale” sign went up, which was followed by flowers, cards and an outpouring of support from loyal patrons. And now, this past Wednesday, Pont’s soup-and-sandwich spot is back in business. And so, we recommend some French onion soup, which Zagat has hailed as the best in the world, no less—or more, as in we want some more.
