Bones
Snoop Dogg follows up his impressive appearance in John Singleton’s
Baby Boy with this unimaginative supernatural gore fest from director Ernest Dickerson (
Juice,
Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight). Four kids move into a rundown tenement building and turn it into a dance club. Dogg plays suave neighborhood hood Jimmy Bones, who was murdered by drug dealers and buried in the building. A demon canine with red glowing eyes digs up his skeleton, helping to resurrect the legendary gangster for a vengeful bloodbath. It’s rather sad to see Pam Grier so wasted here in the role of séance psychic as maggots spew from a canine’s mouth to infest an entire building, a young man has his entrails eaten by Bones’ toothy pooch and other characters suffer horrific atrocities.
