The next time someone tells you you’re in the dog house, don’t fret. Being a dog isn’t so bad. They’ve got their own bakeries (Bogy’s Barkery, at 1014 24th Street, offers pupsicles and pupcakes—yummy!) and designer-made fashion accessories (Gucci makes dog collars, giving pups a chance to sport a little bling-bling). And at Japan’s Sanwa Bank, pooches are welcome to open their own bank accounts. So, life on Earth is pleasant enough, but what about the afterlife? The Rev. James Truesdell will do his best to ensure that all dogs go to heaven when he performs free animal blessings, this Sunday at 11 a.m. Pile your pooch (or any other loved one from the animal kingdom) in the car and head to the Pioneer Congregational Church at 2700 L Street.
