Most of Jennifer Warpole’s paintings are untitled, and her figures live in impressionistic energy. Viewers of her work feel like they were just spun around in a chair and stopped to see a frame of life where the lines are blurred and the colors bleed into each other. The Pennsylvania artist paints in kinetic swaths of earth tones. Although her subjects are often engaged in seemingly unremarkable, unposed movements, they are midsentence of a story. Warpole paints just enough tension to keep the viewer hooked, as if their patient stare will be rewarded by the figures completing their movements and the story.
