Big Momma’s House
FBI agents Malcolm (Martin Lawrence) and John (Paul Giamatti) are out to nab a vicious bank robber (Terrence Howard) in this hokey cross-dressing comedy. They follow a teller (Nia Long) who may be involved in a huge heist to a small Southern town where Malcolm masquerades as the lady’s 300-pound grandmother and tries to break the case. Lawrence generates some laughs as his latex-laden Momma delivers a baby, takes karate lessons and plays basketball, but the script is a mediocre rehash of elements from Stakeout, Tootsie and Eddie Murphy’s The Nutty Professor. Directed by Mrs. Doubtfire editor Raja Gosnell.
