The five poets on Oratrix Productions’ Write Off tour are performing 11 shows in 12 days, driving from British Columbia to Los Angeles. For a spoken-word troupe dedicated to nourishing minority voices and giving an alternate view of class, race and gender, that’s a whole lot of poetic missionary work. Wednesday’s gig in Sacramento is the midway point on the group’s traveling tour of “shocking honesty and twisted wit.” Show up at Luna’s Café, located at 1414 16th Street, at 7 p.m. and buy these fine poets a cookie and a beer. Then prepare to have your mind expanded with original verse and stories from their Seattle homeland. Aysha Cromeenes opens the show. Visit www.oratrixproductions.com for more information.
