Better yuks than yaks

I’d hoped to have a funny take on current California politics (and aren’t all California politics both current and funny? That bear on the state flag ought to be riding a bicycle), but it just couldn’t happen. In spite of comedian, commentator, author, pundit and political shoofly Will Durst’s willingness to do an interview in advance of his May 8 local show, I was stricken by a bug of indeterminate origin and out of commission for a week (hey, when you go to see the doctor and she calls an ambulance, you’re really sick).
