The broccoli and polenta ($14) at Bacon & Butter presents poached eggs on an unorthodox backdrop and proves that the restaurant can excel beyond its eponymous ingredients. Two white satchels of egg yolk burst onto a soft and comforting mound of polenta. The gooey blend is speckled with green onions and fried shallots that break up the mellower ingredients with their astringency.
