Barberian Barbera Bash
Sunday, June 11, 10 a.m., Boeger Winery, no cover
Abandon most of your civility at Boeger Wine’s fourth savage-themed costume and wine fest. The annual bash celebrates Boeger’s flagship dark wine barbera. (Get it?) Aside from a costume pageant and feast of barbecued meats, strength competitions return this year, which include archery, tug of war and a three-legged race while holding a full wine glass. The one who spills the least wins. 1709 Carson Road in Placerville, www.boegerwinery.com.
Marking one year from the Pulse Nightclub shooting, this candlelight vigil pays tribute to the 49 victims lost in one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history.
